CEO Breakfast to Feature Interactive Executive Panel Discussion

Sidera Networks’ Heiden and Alpheus Communications’ Widham to Share Views on Effective Corporate Strategies and Future Market Opportunities

WASHINGTON, D.C. – January 31, 2013 –  COMPTEL, the leading trade association for the competitive communications industry, today announced that it will host an interactive panel discussion with two leading competitive provider executives during the CEO Breakfast at the COMPTEL PLUS Spring 2013 Convention & EXPO. This exclusive, C-Level member’s only event is scheduled for Monday, March 11 from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Aria Resort & Casino.

Speakers on the CEO Breakfast panel include Clint Heiden, president of Sidera Networks, and Scott Widham, CEO of Alpheus Communications, both of whom were named Top Competitive Provider Executives of 2012 by Fierce Telecom. The panel will be moderated by COMPTEL CEO Jerry James.

“Clint and Scott both have a long, successful history in the communications business, leading companies that have thrived, grown and brought great value to their customers, shareholders and the industry in general,” said James.  “We look forward to hearing them talk about their experiences at the helms of their respective companies, how the lessons they’ve learned have shaped their approach to developing corporate strategies, and their outlook for the future of our industry.”

Heiden served as president of Sidera Networks since 2011, and before that was president of PAETEC Fiber Services and National Accounts. There he led all efforts related to the company’s fiber operations and strategy for retaining and growing its largest accounts. Heiden brings an entrepreneurial approach to business that is backed by nearly 20 years of executive experience within the telecom and Internet industries, including work at companies such as Cable & Wireless America, Qwest, UUNET, Intellifiber and InterCon Systems.

Before becoming CEO of regional fiber optic network and data center provider Alpheus, Widham served as CEO of Cobridge Communications, an owner and operator of cable television systems in the central U.S. Earlier in his career, Widham was CEO of Broadwing Communications, which was acquired by Level 3 in 2008 for $1.6 billion, and was the founder and CEO of Capital Cable, which was acquired by Charter Communications. Widham also served as executive vice president of Corecomm and was a director at MTV Networks.

In addition to our panel discussion, CEO Breakfast attendees will have time to network with other top executives of COMPTEL member companies at the breakfast and during the convention. To see our full C-Level Executive Agenda, please visit the COMPTEL PLUS website.
